Beau and I often say we have a jacket problem.

Between us, we probably own at least seven or eight different winter-level jackets, from down puffy coats to ski jackets, fleeces and outer layers. Which may not sound like that many, but since we’ve aimed to be pretty minimal throughout our lives, it feels a bit indulgent to us.

At the same time, having the right tools and clothing to keep warm has never been something we want to scrimp on.

Living with the elements during our first year in our Airstream, we embraced a variety of techniques to keep warm and comfortable and learned a lot about small and big choices that make a difference.
